Nervous System Nourishment
Guided movement and Yoga Nidra meditation
Thursdays 6:00-7:00 PM
(beginning 1/19 - 6 week session)
The class begins with gentle yoga, allowing students to connect breath and movement. In the second portion of class, students will be guided through a Yoga Nidra meditation that is traditionally received while laying down in Savasana.
Yoga Nidra is a guided relaxation practice that induces a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. Yoga Nidra turns on the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for digestion, recovery, and healing. While practicing Yoga Nidra, the mind relaxes and becomes free from the concepts of time and space. When this happens, brain activity reduces and the body goes into a deep healing state. This class is perfect for all levels and will leave you feeling relaxed and restored.
It is recommended to bring a blanket and any additional props you might like that will help you to get as comfortable as possible. Optional to bring an eye mask/light covering for the eyes during meditation.
It is not required to sign up for the entire series! You can drop-in to any class for $15.
However, if you would like to join all 6 weeks, there is a class pass available for $80. (class pass is non-refundable)
Steph’s mindfulness journey began in 2016 when she immersed herself in exploring the healing powers of yoga, reiki, and nutrition. In 2017, she completed the ‘Foundations for the Mindful Teacher’ 200-hour program at Kodawari Studios in Tampa, FL. Steph’s passion as an instructor is to hold a safe space for practitioners to explore their personal yoga journey through the connection of mindful breath and movement.
